Dr. Joseph Kunnel
Dr. Kunnel, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, was former Chief Orthodontist at Midwestern University School of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL; is a former Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Medical School in Chicago and was a former Orthodontic Instructor at Northshore University Hospital in Evanston. Dr. Kunnel has been the recipient of several awards including the Orhan C. Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award from the American Association of Orthodontists, the Clinical Scientist Award from the National Institute of Health, and the Howard Hughes Award. He has published several peer-reviewed scientific papers, and lectures at many national and international meetings. Dr. Kunnel is on the forefront of "Accelerated Orthodontics", using laser, propel, acceledent to reduce treatment time.
Dr. Kunnel offers children, teens and adults the most advanced materials, equipment and techniques in orthodontics with the goal of assisting each patient in achieving healthy, functioning teeth and an inviting smile. Dr. Kunnel offers treatment options that include, traditional braces, self-ligating braces or highly esthetic clear braces, and Invisalign.
Dr. Kunnel resides in Glenview along with wife Jessie, and children Theresa, Elizabeth and George. In his spare time, Dr. Kunnel continues to do clinical research on laser-activated tooth movement.
